2012-13 State Coalition Technical Assistance and Training (BW) Program

The purpose of the BW Program is to be a resource to the domestic violence field by providing technical assistance, informational resources and networking oppotunities to domestic violence service providers in California. This is accomplished through the provision of technical assistance contact with service providers, the coordination of an annual conference for the domestic violence field and co-faciliating Cal EMA's regional trainings for Domestic Violence Assistance (DV) Program grant recipients.

2012-13 Family Violence Prevention (FV) Program

The program is designed to:

- Promote community involvement through public education;

- Develop and disseminate model protocols;

- Increase citizen involvement in family violence prevention;

- Identify and test family prevention models;

- Replicate successful modes, as appropriate;

- Identify and test domestic violence protocols and intervention systems in major service delivery institutions;

- Develop informational materials and seminars to enable emulation or adaptation of models by other communities; and

- Provide domestic violence education to students.

2012-13 Victim/Witness Assistance (VW) Program

Overview: The major of objectives of the VW Program are to provide funding for comprehensive assistance programs for victims and witnesses of crimes and to establish centers to handle the trauma experienced by victims and witnesses thereby allowing for faster and more complete recovery from the effects of crime.

Fund Source: The VW Program is funded by the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), the federal Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and by state penalty assessment funds.
