California Emergency Management Training and Exercise Team
The mission of the Homeland Security Training Division is to support the ICS / WMD / CBRNE / Terrorism / All Hazards training for the First Responder community of California by providing training referrals, exercise support and the coordinated delivery of training and training materials. The Exercise Division develops, coordinates, and leads a statewide Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) primarily focused on Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) / Chemical-Biological-Radiological-Nuclear-Explosive (CBRNE) and to assist California in preventing, protecting, mitigating, responding to, and recovering from man-made and natural disasters .
The California Emergency Management Agency Training Division provides support to the First Responder community of California by providing training referrals, exercise support and the coordinated delivery of training and training materials. This is accomplished by developing partnerships with federal, state and local training providers. The Training Division will ensure the most comprehensive access to training courses which enhance the capability to accomplish the critical mission areas of Prevent, Protect, Respond, Mitigate and Recover in support of the California statewide training strategy.
The mission of the Exercise Division is to develop, coordinate, and lead all-hazard exercises to meet the continually evolving homeland security and emergency management needs of the State of California in accordance with HSEEP guidelines.
- Conduct the Governor’s annual exercise series, Golden Guardian
- Continue implementation and instruction of HSEEP doctrine/methodology in California
- Support regional and State Agency exercise initiatives
- Conduct the annual State Training & Exercise Planning Workshop & produce the multi-year California Training & Exercise Plan
