Overview

The Crime Suppression Section was established in 1997 to meet the growing needs of California’s law enforcement community. The mission of the Crime Suppression Section provides oversight for the management of grant awards to Crime Suppression projects to target criminals and reduce illegal drug activities. The Crime Suppression Section supports Cal EMA's strategic criminal justice goals and is tasked with coordinating assistance and programs for law enforcement agencies, correctional facilities, statewide advisory committees and other technical advisory groups by providing customer-focused law enforcement and criminal justice support to prevent, intervene, and suppress criminal activities perpetrated on the citizens of California.
