Plans Integration provides assistance to other Cal EMA branches and regions, other state agencies and local jurisdictions, and is responsible for complex and sensitive emergency planning and integration efforts regarding programmatic issues unique to discipline specific assignments. These discipline specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, education emergency preparedness, the California Animal Response Emergency Systems (CARES), and the disabilities emergency preparedness. The Unit also develops and maintains the state’s regulatory processes, planning guidance materials, and implementation of emergency planning policy and guidance for which Cal EMA has lead agency responsibility.
