Enhancing Public Safety & Preparedness

The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services exists to enhance safety and preparedness in California through strong leadership, collaboration, and meaningful partnerships. Our mission is founded in public service. Our goal is to protect lives and property by effectively preparing for, preventing, responding to, and recovering from all threats, crimes, hazards, and emergencies.

Visit the Cal OES Community Preparedness page for valuable information about how you can keep you, your family, and your property safe.

for Business

forbusiness.jpgIf you aren't sure whether your property or business is at risk from disasters caused by natural hazards, check with your local building official, city engineer, or planning and zoning administrator. They can tell you whether you are in an area where hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, wildfires, or tornados are likely to occur.

They can also provide information on how to protect yourself, your business, and your property from different hazards.

Visit Cal OES's Business Preparedness page for information and resources on how to protect your property from all hazards.

for Schools

One of Cal OES's goals is to provide direct and easy access to pertinent emergency preparedness information and resources as they relate to schools throughout California and the nation.
