Peggy Okabayashi - Assistant Secretary

Administration and Monitoring

Peggy Okabayashi serves as the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Monitoring.  She oversees the activities of the Office of Administrative Services, which includes three divisions, Fiscal Services, Procurement and Logistical Service, and Human Resources.  She also supervises the Grants Monitoring Division.

Peggy brings over 30 years of experience in state government to this position.  She previously held positions such as Deputy Director of Administrative Services for the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services; Chief of Business Services for the Department of Motor Vehicles; Chief, Business Management Branch for the Office of Real Estate Appraisers; and various analytical positions within state services.  Peggy began her career with the State of California in 1969 as a clerk with the Department of Motor Vehicles, left state service in 1971 to raise her family and returned in 1984 to work for the Board of Equalization.
