The VA Program is designed to:
a.
Provide support for the coordination of services between domestic
violence service providers and law enforcement organizations;
b. Provide training by local domestic violence providers to law
enforcement officers and 9-1-1 dispatchers on how to most effectively
assist victims and connect them with domestic violence services and
advocacy.
c. Establish and implement practical and sustainable protocols that
put victims seeking resources in face-to-face contact with a domestic
violence advocate as soon as possible after the crime has been
committed; and
d. Build capacity within the domestic violence field throughout the
state (successful Applicants will receive funding for a three-year
period and will not be eligible to compete for funding during the next
competitive grant cycle (FYs 2014/2015-2015/2016)).
